GAINESVILLE, FL and SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/04/12 -- At the 2012 LMT LABDAY West Dental Meeting in Anaheim, California, IOS Technologies, the leader in high definition digital impressions and modeling systems, and Jenmar International, the trusted leader in dental laboratory management software solutions, announced that Jenmar's DL-plus Laboratory Management Software and IOS Technologies' FastScan® Digital Laboratory Scanning System have achieved interoperability.
Using the open XML standard, Universal Dental Exchange (UDX), an IOS Technologies and Jenmar customer can now exchange case data between the two systems. A laboratory can receive digital case orders from their dentist using the IOS FastScan System and those cases will transfer seamlessly to the DL-plus Lab Management software.
"This is Jenmar's first integration using the UDX standard," says Jenmar General Manager Andy Stark. "This success is a true testament to the benefit of using open standards in an industry. IOS sent us cases in the UDX file format, and we were able to import them directly into DL-plus. Each of our development teams have been independently developing using the standard for the past few years. This is an important milestone for our companies and the dental industry."
The IOS FastScan® Lab scanner system also supports "pulling" case information from the DL-plus Lab Management software using web services Jenmar has published. These services create and stream UDX formatted case data to the FastScan software so that labs can create a case in the IOS scanning control software without re-typing the case data.
"We are excited to be working with Jenmar on this important development for our mutual customers," says Duane Durbin, the President of IOS Technologies. "The IOS FastScan® product line provides digital model files and case data in non-proprietary, open formats and demonstrates our belief that customers should have ready access to FastScan data for seamless integration into their routine workflow."
For the past 25 years, Jenmar International has developed software used to manage dental laboratories world-wide. Jenmar's DL-plus Lab Management Software includes an integrated Customer Relationship Management module, case scheduling, employee time-clock and productivity modules, credit card processing services, and more. In recent years, Jenmar has invested substantial development resources in creating solutions based on open standards for facilitating interoperability between inter-oral scanners, design software, and milling systems.
Founded in 2007, IOS Technologies, Inc. develops, markets and sells innovative high definition digital impressioning and modeling systems for the dental market. The Company's flagship product, the IOS FastScan® Intra-Oral Impression System was launched in 2011 and is rapidly gaining acceptance in both the restorative dental and orthodontic treatment markets. At the 2012 LMT LABDAY West, IOS is expanding its product line with the market launch of the IOS FastScan® Digital Laboratory Scanning System for dental laboratories.
