EXTON, PA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/16/12 -- Systems Tool Kit (formerly known as Satellite Tool Kit) version 10 is now available. With this release, Analytical Graphics, Inc. (AGI) has changed the product name to better reflect the software's ability to model, analyze and visualize complex land, sea, air and space-based systems, along with their behavior and performance. For the first time, one of STK's most popular features, 3D visualization, is available in the free version. Unlike other 3D offerings, STK uses the actual time standard as its foundation. This allows users to dynamically view their systems in simulated historical time, simulated future time or in real time, with assets updating based on real global conditions.
In addition to the free 3D view, STK 10 has been significantly enhanced to provide broader applicability and availability across aerospace, defense and intelligence markets. Features include:
- Data - Easily search a catalog of cities, facilities, satellites and aircraft; access a cloud-based data repository; stream free Bing Maps imagery; drag-and-drop KML files or GIS map data right onto globe.
- Customization - Import and export data from common tools; build an HTML interface for a common workflow; create custom user interface plugins; produce a custom application with STK as the foundation.
- Parallel computing - Spread STK computations across multiple processors to perform larger computations faster.
- Value-added products - New products for more robust system modeling of position and orientation.
"The inclusion of our full 3D capabilities with Bing Maps streaming imagery in our free product is extremely valuable. Couple that with our focus on server-based data content, new time management tools, display enhancements and parallel processing, and there is no doubt that our users will accomplish their missions better and faster than ever before," says Frank Linsalata, AGI chief operating officer.
