Vaultize Announces Connector for Google Drive in its Enterprise File Sharing and Anywhere Access Platform With Mobility Management Controls

NEW YORK, SINGAPORE and MUMBAI, August 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

Vaultize (www.vaultize.com) the leader in Enterprise File Sync & Share (EFSS), secure anywhere access and mobile collaboration, today announced the beta release of its anywhere access connector for Google DriveTM for Work. Combined with built-in Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM), Data Protection and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities, Vaultize enables enterprise users to uniformly and ubiquitously access, edit and share corporate data across Google Drive, file servers and NAS from their mobile devices, with end-to-end security.

"Enterprises today are facing increased demand from their mobile workforce to access, sync and share corporate data that is distributed across many corporate repositories behind the firewall as well as in the cloud (like Google Drive), to remain productive everywhere. The challenges for enterprise IT are multifold when the data goes beyond the company-managed devices to employee-owned devices through Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD)," said Gary Cooke, Chief Solutions Architect, Vaultize. "Vaultize takes a holistic approach where mobility management, data protection and data loss prevention capabilities are fully integrated into a single enterprise platform to mitigate security, data loss and compliance risks. We are excited to now support secure and managed access to Google Drive on mobile devices while the use of data is completely controlled and managed within the secure container and through Mobile Content Management (MCM) policies. Continuing with our holistic approach, this secure anywhere access to Google Drive perfectly complements Google Apps backup/restore already available in the platform."

Vaultize is the only EFSS vendor to fully integrate EMM into a single offering - providing enterprises complete control and visibility over the sensitive corporate data across corporate content repositories - on-premise as well as in the cloud and irrespective of the device used for accessing and sharing - facilitating increased adoption of Enterprise-wide Mobility even in highly regulated and security-conscious verticals.

Vaultize includes Mobile Device Management (MDM) features such as remote wipe, data containerization, storage and network encryption, PIN protection and white-listing of apps for mitigation of security and protection concerns with Enterprise Mobility and BYOD. Vaultize goes beyond MDM with features like automatic wiping based on geo-location or IP address or time-out. It further facilitates MCM through access rights and allows corporate IT to prevent data loss, security and compliance breaches by controlling what users can do with corporate data on their mobile devices using natively built-in document editor.

The Vaultize apps for iOS and Android have a built-in editor for Microsoft Office documents and PDF annotation. Enterprise IT can have granular control over copy-paste, sharing or opening in third-party mobile applications, printing and emailing. This is made possible through policy driven control over the mobile apps and its built-in document editor. All this combined with the already built-in and patent-pending mobile data containerization technology ensures that data remains secure source-to-destination and cradle-to-grave. Containerization also allows IT to wipe data remotely, or even automatically, based on various policies.

Early adopters of IoT viewed it mainly as a different term for machine-to-machine connectivity or M2M. This is understandable since a prerequisite for any IoT solution is the ability to collect and aggregate device data, which is most often presented in a dashboard. The problem is that viewing data in a dashboard requires a human to interpret the results and take manual action, which doesn’t scale to the needs of IoT.

Much of IT terminology is often misused and misapplied. Modernization and transformation are two such terms. They are often used interchangeably even though they mean different things and have very different connotations. Indeed, it is somewhat safe to assume that in IT any transformative effort is likely to also have a modernizing effect, and thus, we can see these as levels of improvement efforts. However, many businesses are being led to believe if they don’t transform now they risk becoming ...
